Last year I was in California for Memorial Day and I got the Death Sunburn. Remember? The follow-up to that one is that my skin started turning purple and I had to go to the ER where the doctor told me I can't go in the sun for two years because my skin was so damaged that I might die if it gets sunburned again.
Ok fine, he might not have used the word "death" but he did say, "NO MORE SUN FOR YOU," in a very Seinfeldish kind of a way.
So where am I right now?
In California. Let's just hope history doesn't repeat itself.
It's Baptism Weekend for Dean and since I'm the godmother I kiiind of have to be here. (Well technically you can use a proxy in the ceremony but there's no chance I'd miss this.) Don't worry...I am certified to be a godparent. No really. I took a class. I have the certificate.
Hopefully we'll get through any lurking family drama tomorrow and it will be a perfect day. With a baby this cute and Mexican food, how could it not be? Two of my favorite things in the entire world in one place. Life is good.

I am what you might call a connoisseur of sunburns, and that description provokes an interesting psychosomatic response. I have this overwhelming desire to go take an oatmeal bath right now. Yow! Keep your shirt on, we don't want any more of those stories!
They actually had a class for the godparents? That's awesome. I want a certification too!
Aloha keep your spirit because live is good
