Paper towel rolls are useful.

I spent all day cleaning yesterday.
Well, after I sat on the couch eating HOMEMADE crepes from a mix and catching up on Project Runway.
And Real World DC.
Also, I watched few episodes of The Wire.
And then it was lunchtime so I made swordfish.

But after that I spent all day cleaning!

After a whole bunch of lights, whites, brights and darks I tackled the kitchen. After scrubbing everything down I took the empty paper towel roll off the holder and paused with the cardboard tube in my hand. I thought, "I know someone told me to save these for something. What was it?"

For the life of me I couldn't remember until right now: in college the stoner I dated used them to smoke in the dorms without getting caught and he always asked me to save mine for him. And I did. What can I say? Mom raised me to recycle. She would have been so proud...

ok I was a stoner in college and may be it wrecked my brain cells because I can't figure out how you'd use that to smoke without getting caught.....wouldn't it catch on fire? or did he just blow the smoke out of it? Pointless......totally pointless..... (unless you explain it to me and it makes sense - then may be it won't be pointless)

I think he put like dryer sheets or something IN the paper towel and then blew the smoke into it to get rid of the smell? I don't totally remember though. I tried to ignore him when he talked about weed and just pretended he was actually an upstanding citizen. HA. Haha. He so wasn't...

may be you just get so stoned you don't think it smells anymore? Why wasn't he just more resourceful like your big sister and just blow it out the WINDOW through the box fan like everyone else?!?!

we give them to Belén (our 10.5 month old baby) to use as magic wands...but mostly she just chews on them. But they are cheap toys!
