Tonight was one of those nights where things kept feeling scripted...pretty and perfect and shiny...straight out of a movie.
I saw a chubby little girl wearing purple mittens and a matching knit hat holding her mom's hand, pretending to ice skate down the sidewalk.
The song my brother and I always turn up and sing along to came on the radio and when I called to tell him to turn it on, he didn't answer which is almost better than if he did because I got to hold my cell up in the car and leave him a 3 minute message of the rest of the song playing.
My timing driving down Mississippi Boulevard was perfect to get to see the sun going down over the river and even better, I had the time to pull over at the Summit Ave overlook and watch the whole thing.
It didn't even matter that I flooded the engine of the snowthrower trying to get it started because by the time I got home from work someone had cleared my sidewalk for me.
When I grabbed my mail I found a picture rolled up in the box from the three year old little girl next door ander 6 year old sister made me a snowman in the front yard. And let me buy last minute Girl Scout cookies.
At dinner I got yet another free birthday dessert, even though a full week has passed since I turned a quarter of a century old.
Who am I to say no to cheesecake in a shot glass?
Mmmm...a perfect night.
